OK, I’ve been slack again. It seems whenever I actually do anything, I don’t have time to write in a blog. It isn’t ironic, it’s annoying.

Sooo… my iPod turned up I love it! I love it! I LOVE IT! Time on the Hexercyle flies by now I can listen to random stuff on full blast.

Gogol Bordello was AWESOME. We missed Disco Ensemble, but Danko Jones & Bedouin Soundclash were pretty good too. My feet were killing me as I’d been standing up in silly shoes for what seemed like hours (well, it was hours). Met quack from the bit forums :o) Sadly because Chris refuses to believe me when I say we need to go, we missed the last train back to Wokingham from Waterloo and had to go via Paddington and get a taxi back to mine from Reading. Gah! I also got called a “fucking Cossack” in Stockwell tube station by an Australian… not everyday that happens…

After much bitching around with Solio, I finally found out they’d had problems with their payment system. Which is apparently why they thought they’d shipped it to me in September when in fact they’d just taken my money & not sent me anything or any e-mails… When they deleted my last e-mail without it being read I sent them the snotty e-mail saying I would never buy from them again. Then I got an apology & a refund. Woo! So, because no-one else makes anything as cool as a Solio, I bought a black (I wanted hot pink) Solio from the Apple store. It got delivered the same day & I am now the proud owner of a solar charger that is carbon neutral & fucking rocks. I currently only have the iPod charger tip (cos I got it from Apple), so now I’ve put all the tips I want on my WishList just hoping I get them for Xmas.

Talking of my WishList, I finally got around to sorting it out a bit. I’ve added lightbox to it, makes it slightly more interesting than just a list of links. I’ve embedded all the lighbox stuff into the main xoops templates so I’ll probably use it in more of the modules now.

I also got the Ross Noble Randomist DVD delivered last week. Oh… My… God! It’s almost 10 hours long. TEN HOURS! It’s pretty awesome. The Mighty Boosh Live DVD comes out on Monday too. I have soooo much stuff to watch :oD

Robots in Disguise

Wow! That was pretty weird right there :o)

Went up to London for the Robots in Disguise, BIB, Piranha Deathray gig at Nambucca down Holloway Road.

Stopped off in Camden for a couple of drinks at The World’s End, then headed up to get to Nambucca for about 20:00. Get there, a few people are queueing so we join them… and wait… Then eventually we overhear a phone conversation, along the lines of “yeah, it’s been cancelled. Fucking shambles” and just go “noooooo!”. It’s all looking a bit shit.

So we ask the guy who just got off the phone what’s happening and are told that the manager of the pub has forgotten the band are playing and has gone to the cinema in Camden with the keys. Joy. people are not happy.

Just then someone I know from The Mighty Boosh forums appears & introduces herself (I’ve not met her before) and says they’re all going to the pub across the road for a drink & will get a call if anything ends up happening. Quality. We figure we’ll have a drink there & then head back to Camden for a bit before going home.

THEN… we get the news that the Robots will be playing a free gig at The Joint rehearsal studios in Kings Cross (REALLY nice studios by the way, makes Impact look like someone’s garage… well, it does anyway, but you know). Total props to Sarah (JuJu Girl), she gave us a lift across to Kings X :oD We could have been psychos or anything!

So, as the evening panned out we got to see the Robots in Disguise for free, in a studio with only about 30 or 40 people there, very personal gig, and beer was £1 a bottle. Total quality evening. I am so pleased I went. Dee nearly fell on me coming out of the loos and Sue made me use the gents loos. The look on the bloke in there’s face when I opened the door was classic XD

Oh… my… God. I am way too old for that.

For some insane reason I thought I’d see what it was like down in the pit at the PSI gig. As soon as I got there they started to play the songs I love…. so I stayed…. and got to the front… and eventually got kicked in the face by J.

I did however manage to meet up with Nathan, Anthony, Laura, Carmen, Kathy, Dezzy, Spoon, the brothers Bowman, Dan, etc… etc… etc…. (there were rather a lot of us). Which was nice :o) Shame the pub was waaay narrow though. Spent most of the time getting in people’s way :o/

Randomly saw someone I recognised from LiveJournal, (UberRedFraggle) I understand I may have seemed like an internet-weirdo. Oh wait… I am! She was with a bloke (Matt) with a Trap Door t-shirt who I saw again on the train home & vaguely remember spending the 30 minutes trying to convince him he had to watch The Mighty Boosh… sorry.

Got back to Reading at a reasonable hour. The Rising was surprisingly good actually. Paul managed to make me laugh a lot, although I’m not sure I’m happy about this celebrity death match thing he wants to set up with me & Kat :os Also got to meet Karis very briefly. We did attempt to go to the Turtle, but there was a queue… and we’re too cool for queues apparently.

My body is still bruised… ow.

Mum liked her Mother’s Day pressies, she already knew what they were anyway. I had to get her some PJs like my new ones cos otherwise she was going to steal mine. All hail to M&S, they truly are retail gods. I got her nightwear, underwear, flowers & sillyness all in one store. It like rulez & shit.

YAY!

Oh…. WOW! That was probably the best thing, in my life…. EVER! :oD

I really want to get tickets for a later date on the tour now, cos so much looked to be pissing about and improvised and I want to know if it really was. The seats we had were really good. We were right near the front with the gap in front of us (I’m sure it has a proper name, but I have no idea). Which meant that when Bob Fossil appeared me & Tony very nearly tripped him up as we had our legs stretched out! He just came dancing past us “I’ve made love to YOU! I love YOU!” :oD It also meant I could get a little faint when Vince hurtled past me a few times in the mirrorball suit (*mmmm*) being chased by a psychotic rabbit.

I shall write more later… I have just heard they’re coming back to Reading for an extra date! \o/
