I was pleasantly surprised by a UPS man arriving yesterday with my fixed n800. I bought it back in January when they first came out over here, then I suffered early adopter syndrome and it died in February. Well, less died, more sort of had repeated bouts of something near-fatal. I signed up to some forums and it turned out to be very common amongst the first batches. The touch-screen would die completely, sometimes turning it off and on again would work, but often you just had to wait. While it wasn’t working the buttons would spazz making it unusable. Then it’d come back, but the right-side of the screen would be about as sensitive as a brick.

Finally got round to playing this last night (haven’t played a real game in years, it’s been all about Guitar Hero, Peggle Deluxe, etc. for me recently), can’t say I find it that great. The climbing and diving into bales of hay is cool and the killing is cool, but the walking about everywhere bores me silly. I’d only been playing for about half an hour when I got the 360 achievement for staying alive in battle for over 10 minutes… mainly because I was so bored of walking/riding I just killed… Yahtzee was spot on, it should be called Faffing-About Creed. And yeah, that FUCKING hill is well annoying.

It’s really lovely to look at (although Kristen Bells’ cross-eyed face in Heroes is bad enough without seeing it in all the lab bits too) so now I think I’ll stick doing just that, watching my mate play through it and telling him when I spot flags and stuff.

I did have fun though, when I ‘parked’ my horse next to another horse while I climbed up to a View Point, came back and some mad woman was twirling about around my horse!

So today I got my special person link for pre-sale Tour Tickets… but I’m not even sure I’ll use it as they aren’t playing Reading in 2008 :( I’m not sure if it’s because the Hexagon will be in its state of limbo then or if they just don’t fancy Reading. Here are the rest of the dates anyway:

There’s an update to my previous post about my credit card woes. I still haven’t had the amount credited back to me. While I have just been re-assured again that I won’t have to pay, I don’t like that amount sitting on my card for so long. It means my limit is far too close. An emergency now would be disastrous.

However, it would appear I now have the address of the ****s who used my card. They share my surname, so it seems as though my details could well have been sold to them. What makes me really, really angry to the point of my blood boiling though… is that they are clearly better off than me. So why not use your own money you evil, thieving bastards!

She doesn’t look like an internet criminal, she looks like my techno-phobe mother. Looks can be deceiving.
